With starting up a home bakery, I want to offer the best of ingredients to you guys -- yes, I can buy the cheap Walmart brand of chocolate chips ... but the result is waxy, fake tasting chocolate and inferior bakes - in my opinion!
So I set out to find the best chocolate. Imagine my delight when I discovered a Minnesota company that actually makes their own chocolate from bean to bar! And only three hours away from where I live. I was super excited to discover them and their chocolate is the real deal guys! It tastes so smooth, it is carefully hand crafted and uses real ingredients without any of the junk in it. Plus this company goes to great pains to make your experience with their chocolate simply the best. Beautiful packaging and the chocolate bars themselves are so lovely. Their motto: "Time with those you love. Simplicity of ingredients. Wonder at the complexity and beauty around us."
The flavors of chocolate are also very unique and unlike any you will find elsewhere. Flavors like: Lavender Latte, Caramel Crack, Smoked Maple Brittle. My personal (current) favorite, is the Cardamom Krumkake Chocolate Bar. For those of us with Scandinavian heritage here in Minnesota ... this is your chocolate bar! So delicious with hints of cardamom spice and a little crunch like the perfect krumkake.
If you are shopping in Minnesota, be on the lookout for these Minnesota made chocolate bars ... they come in adorable sets of mini samplers that are impossible to resist. :) Or check out their website and order directly from them: www.stedfoods.com You'll get amazing tasting chocolate, support a local business and know that what you are eating is the real deal.
And when you order a baked treat from Maple Leaf Baking Co. that only uses real ingredients ... you are getting to consume the best chocolate in Minnesota!
Editors Note: *recently, to my disappointment this company has changed their packaging from the elegant classic look to a more colorful packaging. The chocolate is still the same, but they have changed their name and look to Stedfoods at: www.stedfoods.com
